Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Tuesday said the time has come for Manipur’s warring communities to reconcile.

Imphal, Manipur, August 14 (HBTV): Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Tuesday said the time has come for Manipur’s warring communities to reconcile. He has sought the support of the people in bringing peace to the state which has been experiencing ethnic violence since May 2023.   

Singh told reporters during the sideline of the 133rd Patriots Day celebration that many Manipuris sacrificed their lives for the country and many have suffered. Now, the time has come for reconciliation among the communities, he said. He said there should not be any kinds of differences on the basis of political views, caste, or creed.   

Earlier, Singh told a gathering at the annual state function that ‘Manipur was rapidly advancing in the field of development fields among-the states of North East and of the country. However, as a result of the unfortunate incident that broke out on May 3 the previous year and aftermath, people are suffering.’

Also, the newly appointed governor of Manipur, Lakshman Acharya, gave remarks about his recent visit to Churachanpur. He said to have interacted with the communities and learned that everyone in Manipur wants peace. He said all efforts will be made to bring peace to the state as soon as possible.
